


Moore Space for your Event
New for 2012, we’re really excited about our brand new Moore Conference Centre extension.
The new conference centre includes the existing 100 seat auditorium with the addition of 8 breakout rooms, flexible work pods and dedicated registration and refreshments area. It fills a gap in our portfolio of services for those event organisers looking for the type of facilities we offer in the 400 capacity Windsor Building but with numbers of less that 100. If you’re thinking bigger it could even be used alongside the Windsor Building for a much larger conference.

A Very Victorian Tea
Can you think of a more perfect theme for an event in our Founder’s Building than a Victorian High Tea. In January the entire hospitality team were treated to an afternoon of Cream Tea, Earl Grey and Cucumber Sandwiches along with some surprise entertainment as our waiters burst into a rendition of Nessun Dorma and other opera classics. Organised by managers in the Campus Services department, who were also on hand to serve the tea and cakes, we had a great time and it gave us the inspiration to suggest how you could achieve this too
Success at Beautiful South Awards
We are really pleased to be able to announce that in December we were awarded Highly Commended Customer Service at the Tourism South East Beautiful South Awards 2011. Celebrating the best venues in the region, this award acknowledges our dedication to providing inspirational customer service.
As part of our hospitality team’s commitment to improving our customers’ experiences 2011 saw the launch of two feedback initiatives here at Royal Holloway.
The first of these are our orange ‘Fantastic or Not?’ customer feedback cards. These have been located at all customer service desks as well as our catering outlets, on site convenience shop and sports centre. They aim to measure how well we are living up to our ethos of providing ‘Fantastic, Fresh and Fun’ service. If you’re visiting and have something to tell us about, be sure to fill in one of these cards.
Our second feedback project is our Inspire Awards. These awards are a new initiative that recognise when team members provide really inspiring customer service. Whether this is someone going above and beyond their usual ‘day job’, providing exceptionally friendly service or doing something that helps you out of a tight spot we want to know about it. Simply fill in one of the blue ‘Inspire’ cards that can be found at our customer service points.
A First Class Christmas
We know it’s early but if you’re looking for the perfect Christmas party venue for 2012 then why not join us here at Royal Holloway, Surrey’s most spectacular Christmas party venue (but then we are a bit biased!) We can offer a fantastic range of packages tailor made to suit all types of Christmas events, including smaller exclusive use lunchtime parties right up to our larger join-a-party nights, all held within our Victorian Founder’s Building.
